ABOUT ME

Hi! I am Naima

I am a full time international graduate student of the MEITE program at University of North Caroline, Chapel Hill.

Before coming to North Carolina, I was working with the Education office at the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Bangladesh, where I served two years. Born and raised in a developing country, I often questioned why we were so late in embracing technology and innovation in everything around us.

My interest for educational innovation sprouted during my work for the marginalized Rohingya refugee community and underprivileged children in Bangladesh. I believe every child has the potential to outgrow himself if taught with the right education tools in a proper surrounding.

I am often called peripatetic by friends and family for my interest in travelling and exploring new countries and learn about their differences in culture. I like to call myself a rebellious young dreamer who wants to work for the government of Bangladesh in order to fix the education gaps and systematic failures of my country. I aspire to see a global hundred percent literacy rate and dream to start it with my country, Bangladesh first.
